The easiest way to automatically create grids for Figma.
lets you create a grid or layout in seconds with the ability to overlay it onto any layer without the need to waste time doing math, allowing you to rapidly modify your layout until perfect. How many times have you had to create a grid or layout, and found yourself spending too much time finding the correct sizes for each element, messing around with spacing to ensure it looks perfect, or having to perfectly align it? This is where the plugin comes into play.
Newly added, you can now edit, save, and reuse layouts. With a conveninent menu at the bottom of the screen labelled "Saved...", just click on it to open the options and saved layouts..
We have added 5 pre-created grids to allow you to quickly insert them into the editor and into your design. The layouts include: Golden Ratio, 12 Column Grid, iPad App With Sidebar, Rule Of Threes Grid and iOS Layout (Notched Device)
If you are not using auto-populate (Selecting more then one layer) then you can customize the colour of the layout guide. You can also tell (easy)grid to replace the main layer selected with the created layout grid.
Where can i use (Easy)grid?
(Easy)grid is available as a plugin for Figma, if you’re unfamiliar with Figma, you might want to check it out here.
What can i do on (easy)grid
(Easy)grid lets you efficiently insert pixel perfect grids onto any layer in seconds, grids that can be made without having to manually work out the sizing or positioning, and that can be rapidly modified until perfect.
Any plans for Sketch or Adobe XD?
We have no plans at the current moment to port (easy)grid over to Sketch or Adobe XD.
What does the future roadmap look like?
Firstly we want to polish off the current version of the tool, and make it work as seamlessly as possible.
Afterwards we have the following planned :
- Add margin from parent layer
- Adding pre-made grids to the tool so they can be quickly added
- Saving your created grids to be reused
- More complicated grid creation tools (allowing for custom spacing between cells, mathematical formula for items, etc…)
I'm recieving an error / the plugin is not working as expected.
Please look at the errors below and let us know which one matches your issue the most:
I can't delete a merged cell :
To delete a merged cell make sure that you are clicking on the cell that you dragged the merge from.
If that still doesn't work then you may have ran into a reported bug which we are working to fix. Please let us know if you receive this issue at the email below.
My inserted grid is missing cells :
If you merged any cells, then only those cells will be inserteed into Figma, you must either have no merged cells to include the whole grid or click on the remaining ones to select them to be inserted.
The layout of my grid does not look as expected :
Make sure that when you enter your grid pattern, that it is in the correct format (look at help section in tool), and that each value is seperated by a space
